Thoughts become Reflections
One of my first woven pieces, created from spindle-spun yarn, one a blend of Merino, Angora, Cashmere and Glitz, the other Blue Faced Leicester and Mulberry Silk.
I kept the weaving quite simple, allowing the character of the yarn itself to shine. And used free-form techniques so that I could response organically to the interplay of colour.
This piece was made from yarn that was spun without any plan for its final use. In this way we can sometime stumble upon combinations that we wouldn’t have imagined if we planned everything from the beginning. And so we learn more about our own creative process.
